A week ago I posted a note about my intention to bring my grief journal book project to fruition and get it published. (Click Here to read that post) This is an update (just to keep myself honest). In the past week I have made what seems like great strides. I worked my way through a first review of all the material I intend to use, making small editorial corrections, and eliminating several entries. The effort has been both challenging and rewarding, with tears shed on more than one occasion. In that review I made note of seven occasions when I quoted a song or poem written by another author. Today’s efforts included tracking down the appropriate contact person for each of those quotes and reaching out to request copyright permission to use the quote in my book. Waiting now for responses. It feels like a big accomplishment. One small (and sometimes not so small) step at a time. I think this time I might be able to follow through on my intention to get this thing done.
