Today I admitted to myself that I’m tired. And as I thought about walking for more than two weeks I realized that I didn’t want to do that. So I’ve changed my plans (sometimes I forget that plans can be changed). I’ll still arrive in Santiago on Monday, and I will still leave on Wednesday heading for Finisterra (and the Atlantic Ocean). But instead of walking there the long way I’m going directly there (a four day walk), spend a day there, and then take a bus back to Santiago. One more night in Santiago, a train to Madrid, one night in Madrid, and then fly home on October 25th. I feel lighter having made this decision and followed through by making the arrangements. I still get to have the experience of walking all the way across a country, and I get to honor what my body and my heart are telling me.
