Day 5

A 25km day, beginning at Maneru and finishing at Luquin. It was a day full of blessings. It began with a ferocious and amazing thunder and lightning storm that had me donning my rain gear for the first time. That mostly dissipated within a few kilometers. I was walking with my new friends who are delightful to share time with and our pace matches nicely. The blessings continued all day, including a delicious ripe fig picked from a tree, followed by fresh garlic bread left by the path by an old man who lives nearby. There were multiple rainbow sightings – a wonderful blacksmith artisan’s workspace filled with remarkably beautiful things, wine from a spigot at a monastery – walking through the streets of beautiful old world villages – and lovely alberge with beds for all of us at the end. It was a very good day!
