the waning moon shines

savor each moment

I’ve been pondering the ephemeral nature of life and the ways in which that quality also makes life ineffable. When I pay attention to each fleeting moment my life is shaped by awe and wonder in ways that words cannot adequately express. Bemoaning the fact that something (or everything) is changing only serves to rob me of the gift of being in this present NOW! And since this present NOW is the only moment that is real, then complaining about change robs me of my life. How much more helpful it is to cherish the gift and savor it.

  • Pay attention.
  • Notice.
  • Be in awe.
  • Be grateful.
  • Repeat.
