On this day set aside for giving thanks, I am spending it with all those in my life who matter to me. It’s a pretty long list. And yet they all fit around the table, because, as it turns out, there is an immense (immeasurable?) amount of room for such connection and gratitude when the table is the human heart. Some on this list have been in my life for a very long time. Some have arrived much more recently. Some live close by, and some live far away (at least when measured in miles or kilometers). Some aren’t even alive anymore, and yet somehow (who can say for sure how such things are even possible) they remain very much alive and vibrant in my heart. In oh so many ways I am who I am today because everyone on this list has had an impact in my life. They have each left their mark on my soul, and continue to do so even now. My life is full and rich beyond anything I could ever have dreamed possible. And so it is that I spend this day filled with deep gratitude, surrounded by a profound sense of peace. Alhamdulilah! Hallelujah! Wow!
