This evening, on a whim, I picked up my book “Keeping My Feet Firmly Planted in the Flow: A Year of Journeying Through Grief & Gratitude” and read through the whole thing in one sitting. It was, as it always is, a remarkable experience. The first third of the book (the part leading up to Veronica’s death) was filled with lots of tears running down my face as I remembered those dark and challenging days 15+ years ago. But more than just the tears, what stood out to me this time was what an amazing gift it was to have her in my life, and what a profound blessing it was (and is) to be surrounded by Love is such profound and ongoing ways. My life is rich beyond measure, and Love really is the only thing that matters. With deep gratitude I once again remember that all of life is a gift, and it is important for me to pay attention.
