Here’s a bit of obscure information. On my morning walk today I was converting miles into kilometers in my head, just for practice. For some reason that led me to think about other units of measurement, at which point the word “parsec” popped into my brain. Realizing that I had no idea how much that was I asked Siri to covert it into miles for me. This is what came up: 1 parsec=19,173,511,576,713.01 miles.

I suspected it would be a large number, but was not expecting it to be quite that big. And it also seemed to be obscure. So I asked Siri to tell me what it was based on. Here is the answer she provided.

Did not see that coming! From kilometers to parsecs – I just never know where my morning walk will take me!
